Richmond is the province's fourth largest city with a population of 185,400, and is situated on Lulu and Sea Islands in the mouth of the Fraser River. With the Georgia Straight to the east, Richmond's neighbours include Delta to the south and Vancouver to the north. The community of Steveston is the largest commercial fishing harbour in Canada and Richmond is a major sea port and distribution centre, while also competing in the agricultural, high tech, electronics and retail industries.

Visitors will enjoy wandering the dykes around the southwestern edge of Steveston, over 90 parks, and over 80 kilometers of hiking and biking trails. 1.4 million waterfowl migrate through Richmond on the Pacific Flyway each year, however the bigger birds can be found at the Vancouver International Airport.

The Golden Village is an Asian mecca featuring cultural, culinary and leisure activities including a busy commercial district, Hong Kong malls, five Buddhist Temples and over 350 Asian restaurants.
